July 5...Post Fireworks ~ Body Balancing Breakfasts

A fabulous morning after the big holiday here @ The Desoto Oceanview & Oceanspray Inn...What a fabulous display of fireworks! And we just had walk about 30 yards to sit by the edge of the ocean and view all kinds of fireworks nearby and as far down as Miami. Wow! This morning mother nature has come in  to do her own cleansing with rain, lightening and thunder.

I prepared a variety of breakfasts this morning to assist folks in balancing their bodies post-holiday celebrating, which can often be quite taxing on the system:

3 breakfast combinations for rebalancing the body, post-holiday revelry:
1. dandy bowl & juice
2.  fruit ambrosia salad, plain or with granola
3. granola and raw nut milk
 Here's the menu:

My favorite dish, which i've prepared on many occasions, is The Dandy Bowl. A macrobiotic meal in a bowl, full of nourishing whole grains, such as quinoa and a sprouted rice blend tossed with pinto beans, and sautéed carrots, broccoli, celery, kale and cilantro with a little dulce, coriander and cumin. This combination of foods is very gentle and nourishing to an over taxed digestion anytime. The juice du jour is my "Sweet Beets", a fabulous tonic and blood cleanser. Together, these two dishes are light on the body and still satisfying.

Today we also offered a lighter fare of fruit and/or granola. Fruit Ambrosia Salad, consisting of purple and green grapes, strawberries, unsweetened coconut & fresh mint all tossed in a light coconut vanilla yogurt. The salad alone, or together with our house granola, with toasted gluten-free oats with goji berries, served with organic, fresh-made nut milk composed of sprouted hemp & golden flax seeds, sweetened with agave and maple syrup, also is light on the system.
